Liverpudlian author Angela Ackah-McIntyre returns to Liverpool next week for a special event at Central Library to mark the launch of her new children’s fun fantasy book Efua’s Magic Stew.

A modern fairy tale with a unique cultural twist, Efua's Magic Stew offers up a delicious blend of fantasy, adventure and west African folklore, taking young readers on an unforgettable journey through magical lands filled with adventure, mystery and more.

To mark the event, Central Children’s Library will be hosting an author’s immersive reading of the book on Saturday 19 April.   With percussion instruments and lots of audience participation, the event promises to take children on a magical journey to faraway lands where they can dive into Efua's enchanting world and let their imagination run wild.

​

A writer of Ghanaian origin, Angela grew up in Childwall and now lives in south east London. Her passion for storytelling comes from her childhood experiences of traditional west African stories passed down through her family. She originally created Efua's Magic Stew as an oral story for her daughters when they were young. Now, she and her youngest daughter are excited to share this story with a broader audience, inspiring children everywhere to embrace their own unique journeys through these fun, interactive sessions.

 

The event, including an author book-signing, takes place on Saturday 19 April, from 1.45-4pm at the Children’s Library, Liverpool Central Library, William Brown Street, L3 8EW. Ideal for children age 6-11. Admission is free, but booking is essential. Booking via: Efua’s Magic Stew at Eventbrite.
